I have more than a decade of experience as a storyteller across diverse mediums. Visual arts, creative writing, journalism, design. My work is grounded in community, collaboration, and a desire to unearth and celebrate local talent and indigenous creativity.
I’m well-versed in current cultural trends and responsive to the real and human needs of an idea or story. I use all of my skills to help craft something that is bright, accessible and impactful. Hīnātore is small-scale. That means a collaborative process that is more intimate, more flexible, and more able to cater to your needs.
Hīnātore Creative is woven from the following values:
Fun
Whether it’s just the process, or moves all the way through to the final product, Hīnātore Creative wants to bring an element of curiosity and fun to the journey of realising your ideas.
Responsive
Hīnātore Creative is responsive to current trends in art, literature and culture, and want to make something that really, truly fits in with the current landscape and the people you want to speak to.
Human
Hīnātore Creative believes in ancestor intelligence as a guide for exploring and realising your ideas. I’m a real human person who can get a feel for your world and the needs of your project without having to resort to derivative and extractive AI platforms.
My work as a visual artist has been exhibited in Soft Shell (Te Tuhi Parnell Project Space), Hoea Gallery, Wormhole, Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre. My work as a writer is published in print and digital media across Aotearoa.
I’m also a freelance writer and interviewer. If you have any project in mind in the world of arts and media, I’m keen to hear about it!
